Pauline (Marlow) Carter, 81, of Mooresville, died June 8, 2008, in Morgan Hospital & Medical Center. Mrs. Carter was born July 31, 1926, in St. Charles, Virginia, to the late Jarred and Mary Marlow.
Mrs. Carter worked for Wolfe & Swickard for a number of years, retiring in 1991. She loved puzzles, raising children, and all kinds of flowers.
Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Carter. They were united in marriage on February 7, 1946; he preceded her in death on October 24, 2003. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Carter; brothers, Glay and Charles Marlow.
Survivors include sons, Bill Carter of Avon, Harold Carter of Mooresville, Jack Carter of Avon, Wayne Carter of Mooresville, Larry Carter of Plainfield, Roger Carter of Mooresville, David Carter of Mooresville; daughter, Shirley Poe of Brooklyn; sister, Louise Blevins of Howell, Michigan; 23 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will begin at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 12, 2008, in the Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel, Mooresville, with calling there from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 11, 2008. Rev. Billy Gott will officiate the service. Interment will be in Mooresville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Lung Association.
