Ira Junior Burris, 78, Mooresville, died June 4, 2008, in the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center, Indianapolis.  Mr. Burris was born February 15, 1930, in Coalmont, Indiana, to the late Ira and Maggie (Gamble) Burris. 

Mr. Burris was employed at King & Hygrade for 15 years and later worked at Bridgeport Olin Brass for 28 years, retiring in 1994.  He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. 

He was preceded in death by brothers, Joe, Harry, Harold, George, and Jim Burris; sisters, Lucille Reed, Mabel Love, Katherine Miller, Maxine Fredrick, and Betty Brough. 

Survivors include his wife, Barbara J. Burris, to whom he was united in marriage October 20, 1951; sons, Michael  Burris (Joy) of Camby, Indiana, Melvin Burris (Tonya) of Whiteland, Indiana, Marvin Burris (Leslie) of Mooresville; sister, Evelyn Benjamin of Wisconsin; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held privately.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
