Richard Paul “Dick” Seger, 79, Mooresville, died May 21, 2008, in Millers Merry Manor, Mooresville. Mr. Seger was born April 28, 1929, in Liberty, Illinois, to the late Henry and Mary Matilda (Duright) Seger.
Mr. Seger was the Chief Executive Officer of South Central REMC for 20 years, retiring in 1989. In addition, he was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, the Secular Franciscan Order, 4th Degree of Knights of Columbus in Martinsville, Martinsville Elks Lodge, and the Martinsville American Legion #230. Mr. Seger proudly served in the United States Army.
Mr. Seger was married to Eleanor (Hardey) Seger, who preceded him in death in 1989. He was also preceded in death by a brother, John Seger; sister, Mary Harris.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Phyllis DuCharme Seger of Mooresville, they were united in marriage June 5, 1993; sons, James Seger of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Kenneth Seger of Martinsville; daughters, Patricia Rayl of Columbus, Georgia, Jean Seger of Bloomington, Indiana, Sheri Seger of Chicago, Illinois; step-son, Gerald DuCharme of Hall, Indiana, Mark DuCharme of Brooklyn, Indiana; step-daughter, Yvonne Tom of Plainfield, Indiana, Diann Dale of Matthews, North Carolina; brothers, Donald Seger of Williamsburg, Virginia; 8 grandchildren; one step grandson.
Friends and family will gather on Friday, May 23, 2008, 4 to 8 p.m., in the Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel, Mooresville, with recitation of the rosary at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, May 24, 2008, in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Mooresville. Fr. Mark Gottemoeller will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Martin Church Cemetery, Martinsville.
