Robert J. Donovan, 86, Mooresville, died November 30, 2007 in his residence.  Mr. Donovan was born March 3, 1921 in Bloomfield, New Jersey to the late Thomas and Rose Donovan. 

Mr. Donovan graduated from the Coast Guard Academy and earned his masters degree from Rutgers University.  He proudly served in the United States Coast Guard and was a Purple Heart recipient.  He was employed as a supervisor and engineer for National Starch & Chemical, Indianapolis.  He also enjoyed horse racing. 

Mr. Donovan was preceded in death by his wife, Claire (Dvorschak) Donovan who died in 1978 and two brothers, Jerry Donovan and Bill Donovan. 

Survivors include his son, Pat Donovan of Mooresville; daughter, Mary T. Campbell (Joseph) of Paragon; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild.  

Friends and family will gather Tuesday, December 4, 2007, 4 to 7 p.m. in the Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel, Mooresville.  An informal time to share memories will begin at 7 p.m.  Burial will be in Mooresville Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Indiana.
