Mary Garabedian Gingras, 86, Monrovia, died Sunday, November 18, 2007 in Meadow Lakes, Mooresville. Mrs. Gingras was born on January 13, 1921 in Tulare, California to the late Avak and Kuvar (Haroutunian) Garabedian.
Mrs. Gingras was primarily a homemaker; however, prior to raising her children she was proud to have been a draftswoman for the B-1 Bomber and worked on the Hubble Telescope. She also did art work in the fashion and retail industry. She loved to read and draw. In addition, she enjoyed all kinds of flowers and enjoyed gardening.
She was married to Joseph W. Gingras in 1956, and he preceded her in death in 1980. In addition, her siblings, Armen, Gary, Terry, and Karet Garabedian, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her sons, Joseph Gingras, Jr. of Massachusetts, Charles Gingras of New Hampshire; daughters, Patricia Schelm (Fred) of Monrovia, Indiana, JoAnne Gingras of Indianapolis, Indiana; brother, Charlie Garabedian of California; grandchild, Megan Gingras of Massachusetts; a host of step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
Friend and family will gather from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 21, 2007, in the Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel, Mooresville. Rev. Ronald Prilliman will officiate at service beginning at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hall, Indiana.
